Safety
- Plan your journey, avoid walking alone at night, and keep to
well-lit main roads
- Avoid short cuts through alleyways or waste ground
- Stay alert - be aware of what's going on around you
- Avoid using your mobile phone in public and keep it out of sight
- Don't wear headphones, as hearing traffic, strangers or potential
trouble is severely restricted
- Keep your bag or briefcase where you can see or feel it, either on
your lap or between your feet
- Keep your keys separate from anything with your address on it
- Don't leave valuables in your coat pockets if you take it off
- Always keep your drink in sight and never accept drinks from
anyone you don't know or cannot trust
