The wooden Bearblocks cottages in the Essex weatherboard style still survive at the junction of Harwood Hall Lane in a view which remains largely unchanged since this photograph was taken in about 1910. Once two dwellings in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, they are now subdivided into eight cottages.
