We are the Woodland Trust (Registered Charity: 294344), the UK's leading charity dedicated to the conservation of our native woodland heritage. We are working with the Millennium Commission, which awards lottery money to projects celebrating the new millennium. Our millennium project is called Woods on your Doorstep, and is aimed at creating a new wood within easy walking distance of 200 towns and villages across Wales and England. Each will be a beautiful place for everyone to enjoy, for wildlife to flourish and a way of marking the millennium that will last forever.
